Individual Psychotherapeutic Counselling Sessions – £80 – 60 minutes
Every therapeutic journey is unique – please find some information below that shares a little about how I work. I am happy to answer any questions you may have before working together, feel free to get in touch.
I work in-person only, either at one of the therapy centres I run in Sandbach or Middlewich, Cheshire, or via home visits in the local area, subject to availability and suitability. My clinical days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
As a relational, trauma and attachment-informed therapist, I am particularly attuned to and interested in your relationship with yourself, your relationships with people in your life and how you experience the world around you. We may explore our therapeutic relationship and how what’s happening between us reflects on your experiences of your personal relationships.
My integrative psychotherapeutic practice is grounded in person-centred, Gestalt, psychodynamic and existential foundations. I have extensive experience of working with trauma, self harm and suicidal thoughts. My approach is warm, down-to-earth and honest. I’m not easily shocked, and you don’t need to hide or polish the messier parts of your experiences.
Every therapeutic relationship is unique, the same as any relationship – it’s my role to adapt my approach to fit your individual needs, providing a space which is intuitively attuned to you and your experiences. I have strong values around autonomy and agency – I may make suggestions that could be helpful for you, but I will never tell you what to do or how to think.
Seeing your life holistically is an important part of both of our roles. I will help you explore your childhood, experiences that have impacted you, relationships, the mind/body connection, how you view the world and explore what gives your life purpose and meaning. Exploring our past helps us to locate and understand the roots of the distress you’re experiencing today, helping you to discover how to heal, grow, and have a more fulfilling life.
We will work together, collaboratively towards your therapy goals. We will look to find more self-awareness, clarity and understanding of who you are, how you relate to others, and how your experiences have shaped you into the person you are.
As I am also trained in Bibliotherapy, I welcome clients who are wanting to explore themselves further via independent reading, and can make tailored suggestions to you depending on what you wish to have support with, and what your goals are.
Get in touch to book your initial consultation, a 20-minute free, no obligation telephone call, where we can discuss your needs and expectations, and determine if working together feels like the right step.
If, after a discussion, it feels like I might not be the best person to support you, I am always happy to make suggestions of alternative therapists I know and trust, or local services that may be able to support you.
“I have felt so much benefit from having therapy with Lyndsey and truly believe I would not be where I am right now without it. Throughout the whole process Lyndsey has been understanding, patient, supportive, reflective and honest. I have no doubt that if I ever felt I needed therapy in the future, my first call would be to get in touch with Lyndsey.”
